Attributed to Pietro Bellotti (Italian, 1627-1700) The Fate Lachesis oil on canvas 19 1/4 x 15 1/4 in. (48.9 x 38.7 cm) This lot is located in Philadelphia. Framed: 26 3/4 x 23 x 2 in. Canvas is unlined. Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust. Craquelure throughout. Intermittent abrasions with minor associated paint loss along extreme edges of the work. Two spots of soiling present at upper right corner. A spot of white present at upper center in figures forehead. Under UV: Evidence of scattered strokes of inpainting present around figures face, concentrated at edges. Additional inpainting that may be present is difficult to discern due to the thick application of varnish. Additional images available upon request.
