RIVAROL, Antoine de. Tableau historique et politique des travaux de l'assemblée constituante. A highly anti-revolutionary treatise by a disciple of Voltaire. Paris, Maret, Desenne et Cérioux, 1797. In-8 paperback, marbled paper covers, havana title page on spine. Title, XIV, 379 pp. A few leaves carefully restored in the margins. First edition of these articles published by Rivarol (1753-1801) in the Journal politique national of the Abbé de Castres, of which he was the main contributor. A man of letters close to Voltaire, Antoine de Rivarol vigorously defended monarchist positions during the French Revolution. A very fine, fresh copy.
