In-8 (21.5 x 14 cm), light blond glossy half-calf, spine with raised bands accented by gold dotted lines, compartmentalized fleurons between the bands, author’s name and title in gold on green and red morocco leather patches. Contemporary binding. 319 pp. Scuffs with minute losses and slight brown stains on the leather; some foxing, more prominent in the margins. First edition of this biography of Madame de Choiseul (1729–1794) by Joseph Grasset. Ex-libris from the Suisnes Library stamped on the half-title page. A fine copy.
