In-4 (28 x 22 cm), paperback, padded cover, vignette pasted onto the top cover. 312 pp. A deluxe edition of this beautiful Hindu novel, originally written in Tamil and adapted by Félicien Champsaur, illustrated by the Italian painter Fabius Lorenzi (1880–1964) with 26 (of the 28 announced) exquisite full-color illustrations in the style of Brunelleschi or Dulac. The text is embellished with numerous headpieces and footers printed in green, blue, and red. Limited edition of 475 copies; this one is one of 380 numbered copies on Lafuma pure-spun dyed vellum, bearing the number 198. Uncut copy.
