Pitch-spout mug Made of pewter. Straight body resting on a small molded foot. Curved spout with a heart-shaped opening. Slightly bell-shaped lid, topped by a soldier in armor holding a coat of arms. Ribbon handle ending in a coat of arms. Notched thumb rest with floral decoration. Bears the following engraved inscriptions: “FRANCISCUS // VON FREIBURG // WOLF PANTALEON VON STEIR.” The coat of arms on the lid features a cup crossed with two swords and the date “16//87.” Two hallmarks are visible on the handle, including a quality hallmark from the city of Steyr in Austria and that of an unidentified master featuring a bunch of grapes and uncertain initials.
