Large, fairly fine Bulgarian rug Central Europe Circa 1960–65 Dimensions: 310 x 197 cm Wool pile on a cotton backing In good overall condition Design reminiscent of Iranian rugs. Almond-green field with a design featuring a wreath of roots and garlands of fine, crenellated ivory twigs framing a central beige floral medallion in the shape of a stylized elongated diamond. Four spandrels with motifs reminiscent of the central medallion. Five borders, the main one in midnight blue featuring rows of finely drawn, stylized cypress trees surrounded by compositions of geometric floral buds. Dimensions: 197 × 310 cm
