Carved, painted, and gilded wooden sculpture group, Southern Italy, 18th century 43 x 31 x 18 cm Depicting the Annunciation, with a flying angel suspended in mid-air on a stylized cloud and the Virgin of the Annunciation kneeling on a marbled kneeler. The Baroque-style base is decorated with a two-tone checkerboard pattern, and the architectural bracket supports are connected by a carved frieze featuring a cartouche and flowering vines. Minor defects.
