Banksy (British Street Artist, born 1974) “RADAR RAT” (UK, 2002) Stencil and aerosol spray on metal door 42 x 24 cm (16.5 by 9.5 inch.) CONDITION Excellent, original condition The artwork is framed and ready for exhibition (Please refer to department for a Condition Report) PROVENANCE – Private collection, London, United Kingdom. NOTES – Banksy used this “Radar Rat” stencil many times on various objects, walls and fences at night, when walked through the streets of London hiding by the darkness. He sprayed this rat with and without the ‘Red Spiral’. Most of these Artworks disappeared within days or weeks, scrubbed away by council workers or property owners. Over the years, others were lost to demolition or the elements. Very few have survived to this day, and this “Radar Rat with Red Spiral” on a metal door is believed as one of the finest remaining examples of its kind.
