TWO POSTERS: 1) DIAMONDS AT THE CASINO WITH THE QUEEN OF HEARTS. THE “A THOUSAND AND ONE DIAMONDS” COLLECTION IS A PRESTIGIOUS EXHIBITION OF VALENZAN JEWELRY CREATIONS. SANREMO MUNICIPAL CASINO, SEPTEMBER 5–6–7, 1981. Dimensions: 68 x 98 cm. The exhibition featured one-of-a-kind pieces and items of the highest caliber: diamond sets, solitaire rings, brooches, and sculptural jewelry that represented the pinnacle of technical mastery by the artisans of the Valenza district. The “A Thousand and One Diamonds” exhibition was organized as an elite, “niche” event. “The Queen of Hearts”—the title of the exhibition (“Diamonds at the Casino in the Company of the Queen of Hearts”)—was no coincidence. It was conceived as a visually evocative concept that combined gambling (the Casino) with the allure of luxury (diamonds), presenting jewelry not only as an ornament but as the ideal companion for gala evenings and the gaming tables (source: Sanremo Civic Library – Newspaper Archive). 2) L. FONTANA DRAWINGS AND GRAPHIC WORKS TERESITA FONTANA COLLECTION ITALO- - LATINO AMERICANO / THE VENICE BIENNALE / GIORGIO CINI FOUNDATION / SAN GIORGIO MAGGIORE – VENICE / JUNE 10 – JULY 10, 1972. Dimensions: 59 x 80 cm. Original promotional poster printed for the important historical exhibition by Lucio Fontana titled “Drawings and Graphic Works.” This specific 1972 exhibition marked a pivotal moment in art criticism; in fact, for the first time, the Giorgio Cini Foundation opened its doors to contemporary art, offering a comprehensive overview of Fontana’s “laboratory of the sign” and his graphic work just a few years after his death. The exhibition was the second installment of the exhibition series that began in Rome in the spring of that same year (source: Giorgio Cini Foundation).
