TWO POSTERS: CONTENOTTE’S “TRANSLUMINAZIONE” IN THE HALL OF THE CARITIDES AT PALAZZO REALE, THURSDAY, MARCH 6, 1975. This reference commemorates the famous poster for the artistic and performative event titled “Transluminazione,” curated by the Italian painter and sculptor Bruno Contenotte (pseudonym of Bruno Facchini, 1922–1992). This specific event marked the official presentation of Contenotte’s monograph, published by the Istituto Editoriale d’Arte Leda in Milan. Dimensions: 68 x 97 cm. Bruno Contenotte is historically recognized as the pioneer and creator of psychedelic lighting, metaphorical space projections, and “transluminazione,” through the use of light installations, advanced chromatic projections, colored liquids, and Plexiglas structures to radically transform and redefine the surrounding architectural space (source: https://dizionariodartesartori.it/artisti/contenotte-bruno-facchini). This specific poster is a historical testament of excellence; in fact, the graphics and layout for the 1975 “Transluminazione” event at Palazzo Reale were created by Pino Tovaglia, one of the most important and influential masters in the history of Italian graphic design and modernism (source: IRIS / Arpi / Unipi). This lot features two of these rare posters.
