Milena Milani (1917–2013) was a key figure in 20th-century Italian culture. In addition to being a celebrated writer and journalist, she was the only woman to sign Lucio Fontana’s Spatialism manifestos. She is famous for her paintings and ceramics centered on “painted words” (written-paintings). Listed in official biographies among Milani’s debut solo exhibitions, this work attests to the writer-artist’s strong connection to the western Ligurian Riviera (Savona, Albisola, Finale Ligure).
