TWO POSTERS: 1) ROSSELLO, ORDELAFFI GALLERY, MILANO MARITTIMA, JULY 1971. Dimensions: 43 x 60 cm. In 1971, Mario Rossello was at the height of his artistic evolution. This was the period immediately following his famous “Dogs” series and themes related to urban alienation and the relationship between humans and nature, which would later lead to his highly acclaimed “Trees” phase. The posters for these exhibitions were often designed directly by the artists or printed with high-fidelity reproductions of a key work from the exhibition (source: University of Genoa). 2) CDC – CLUB DEL COLLEZIONISTA – MILAN – DECEMBER 14, 1971, TO JANUARY 12, 1972, URANO PALMA. Dimensions: 46 x 68 cm. The CDC Gallery—Club del Collezionista in Milan—was an exhibition space and cultural association active at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. Urano Palma (1936–2010), a Milan-based sculptor and designer, is renowned in the art world for having upended industrial concepts of mass production. In the very early 1970s, his work focused on creating his iconic “sculptural furniture” and artworks made from unconventional materials such as wood carved or drilled to simulate woodworm damage, aluminum, cast iron, and resins (source: Braidense National Library in Milan).
