MAN RAY. CITY OF FERRARA – PALAZZO DEI DIAMANTI CIVIC GALLERY OF MODERN ART – MAY 20–JUNE 25, 1972. Dimensions: 65 x 100 cm. Promotional poster for the exhibition. The critical introduction and curatorial supervision of the catalog were entrusted to Italian art historian and critic Roberto Gianoglio (Janus), a leading figure in Italy for the dissemination and study of the works of Man Ray and the Surrealists. The central image of the 1972 poster depicts an upside-down broom made of broomcorn set within a frame or linear structure, standing out against a dark background. It is a photographic reproduction of one of Man Ray’s most famous “objects of affection” (Surrealist ready-mades), originally titled “L’Homme Infini.” A rare poster in perfect condition.
