TWO POSTERS: 1) LOU LAURIN-LAM EXHIBITED AT THE ALBISOLA MARE ARTISTS’ CLUB FROM AUGUST 21–28, 1976. Dimensions: 50 x 70 cm. Lou Laurin-Lam (1934–2012), a Swedish painter and printmaker, was a key figure in the international art scene, also known for being the wife and lifelong partner of the renowned Cuban painter Wifredo Lam. Although the Swedish artist had been visiting the Ligurian village since the early 1960s alongside her husband Wifredo Lam, this solo exhibition in the mid-1970s marked a significant moment in the independent affirmation of her personal artistic exploration within the Ligurian community (source: Tate Gallery, London). 2) “PLUS HAUT” SOLO EXHIBITION BY MILENA MILANI, DECEMBER 1968, GALLERIA REGIS, FINALE LIGURE. Dimensions: 49 x 70 cm. Milena Milani (1917–2013) was a key figure in 20th-century Italian culture. In addition to being a celebrated writer and journalist, she was the only woman to sign Lucio Fontana’s Spatialism manifestos. She is famous for her paintings and ceramics centered on “painted words” (written-paintings). Listed in official biographies among Milani’s debut solo exhibitions, this work attests to the writer-artist’s strong connection to the western Ligurian Riviera (Savona, Albisola, Finale Ligure).
