JAPAN - 20th century Set for the Girls' Festival (Hina Matsuri) consisting of sixteen dolls with gofun-painted faces and polychrome kimonos, including: - Jo and Uba under a pine tree, the Emperor and Empress, a black-and-gold lacquered ox-drawn cart, and a small box. (Damage, missing parts). - A gold-and-black lacquered palanquin flanked by two halberds. Height of palanquin: 12.8 cm - A pair of black-and-gold lacquered lanterns. - A set of black-and-gold lacquered chests and display stands. Also included: - Kneeling samurai, left hand on his knee, wearing armor. Glass eyes. Height: 20.5 cm - Seated emperor and empress in beige and red kimonos. Glass eyes; metal headdress.
