STEPHANE AUDRAN AND CLAUDE CHABROL During the filming of the movie "La Rupture" at Square du Bois in Brussels, 1970. Photo, vintage silver print, labeled and annotated on the back. 26.8 x 18.2 cm. One edge shows signs of handling. Note: Stéphane Audran plays Hélène Régnier, a mother who leaves her abusive husband and tries to retain custody of their son. Her wealthy father-in-law, convinced that she is responsible for her husband’s downfall, hires a man to discredit her. Adapted from Charlotte Armstrong’s novel *The Balloon Man*, *La Rupture* transforms a family conflict into a psychological thriller about manipulation and class dynamics. Married to Claude Chabrol from 1964 to 1980, Audran was also one of his leading actresses: her aloof elegance and restraint become, in this film, the tools of a character confronted with escalating social violence.
