The pole is topped with a turned ivory (Elephantidae spp.) handle, decorated with a cord tied with a tassel. The finial is adorned with a setting featuring garnet-colored stones. The chain and clamping ring are adorned with garnet-colored stones. Gilded brass slide bearing the mark of the famous Parisian house “Cazals,” supplier to Empress Eugénie.
