Rex" in pencil lower right and dated (20)06, titled "Liegende" lower centre, numbered "3/10" lower left, reclining woman with long dark hair, her head propped on her hand, in a black and white striped top under a blue and black striped blanket, on a red cushion with black dots, behind her a red window, in black, red and blue, good condition, image 26.5x40 cm (HxW), behind glass, framed, overall 50x70 cm (HxW) Tino Rex, born in Rodewisch in the Vogtland in 1967, studied art and German in Erfurt and Leipzig and has worked since 1995 as an art teacher and artist in his home town; he is a member of the Bund Bildender Künstler and the Chemnitzer Künstlerbund. His main medium is the woodcut, which he works in one or two colours, often red and black, alongside oil paintings and other prints; exhibitions showed his work in 2008 at the Galerie am Domhof and at the Königliches Kurhaus in Bad Elster. In the colour woodcut a separate plankwood block is cut for each colour, from which the raised ridges are printed in relief onto the paper; the small edition of ten impressions marks this sheet as an original print from the Vogtland printmaker's workshop.
