In screenprinting, the stencil process of serigraphy, the ink is pressed with a rubber squeegee through a fine mesh that is blocked by a stencil in the non-printing areas; each screen prints one colour, so that a multicoloured sheet such as "Erstes Grün" is produced in several printing runs. The colour screenprint with the window view of the first shoots belongs to the prints of the Leipzig School and to the art of the GDR.
