Probably Poschinger, glass bowl, dark violet iridescent, white combed threads, Art Nouveau style Dark violet glass, iridescent, glass bowl in Art Nouveau style, probably Poschinger, compressed bulbous lower part, above it a waisted wall, flaring trumpet-like towards the top, rim waved several times and drawn out into lobes, outer wall with applied white threads all round, pulled down into points in several places (combed decor), outside iridescent in green, gold, blue and violet, inside pink-violet iridescent, pontil ground out, good condition commensurate with age, 10x18.5x19 cm (HxWxD). The Poschinger glass manufactory in Frauenau in the Bavarian Forest dates back to 1568 and was regarded as the oldest glass manufactory in Germany continuously in family ownership; at the Paris World Exhibition of 1900 the house received a gold medal. The Art Nouveau glass of the works is characterised by combed thread decors, the so-called Federzug, and a soft iridescence, unlike the strongly metallic iridescent glasses of Joh. Lötz Witwe.
