Monogrammist "RK", stylised head with long neck on steel plate, modelling compound, dated 2005 Modelling compound, polychrome painted, mounted on a steel plate, stylised head with long neck, incised monogram "RK" and dated (20)05 on the side of the neck, face smooth in light beige and reddish tones, straight nose, closed mouth, hair cap in grey-black with rough, irregular surface, good condition, metal plate with traces of corrosion, 41x19.5x27 cm (HxWxD). Modelling compounds are sculptural materials that are built up in an additive process; a distinction is made between air-drying, oven-hardening and ceramic compounds. Air-drying compounds harden without firing, ceramic compounds are fired at 900 to 1200 degrees. Without shoulders, the head sculpture stands on the steel base like a bust.
