Monogrammist "RK", two stylised birds on I-beam steel girder, modelling compound, dated 2006 Modelling compound, polychrome painted, monogrammed "RK" in white and dated (20)06 on the foot of one bird, two stylised, drop-shaped upright birds with small heads and beaks, facing each other, screwed onto the upper flange of an upright I-beam steel girder standing on a rectangular steel plate, birds in grey, white and brown with rough, furrowed surface and traces of blue paint, one bird with a long tail hanging over the flange, good condition, partly rubbed, metal with traces of corrosion, 84x46x27 cm (HxWxD) In sculpture, modelling compounds are all materials built up layer by layer in an additive process, from air-drying and oven-hardening compounds to ceramic clay fired at 900 to 1200 degrees. The bird sculpture with two animals facing each other belongs to animal sculpture, in which the pair of birds is a classic motif. The I-beam as a base and the painted, rough surface characterise the contemporary sculpture of the monogrammist "RK".
