In the 1920s he worked in a studio in Braunschweig, where the few of his pictures without a Harz motif were created. His landscapes often follow a recurring composition: a path in the foreground, framed by trees, reflections of light on the ground and a mountain backdrop in the distance. The Munich publisher Hermann A. Wiechmann published many of his motifs as picture postcards between 1920 and 1930.
