Montblanc Meisterstück 146 piston fountain pen, black precious resin with 14 ct gold nib, c. 1990 Black precious resin with gold-plated fittings, probably early 1990s. Montblanc Meisterstück 146 piston fountain pen with the white Montblanc star in the cap crown. The broad gold-plated cap band engraved 'MONTBLANC-MEISTERSTÜCK No 146', flanked by two narrow rings, with the characteristic gold-plated clip, engraved 'Germany' to the reverse. 14 ct gold nib stamped '4810', the Montblanc emblem and '14 K', nib width M. Section with striped grey-blue ink window, piston filling mechanism, in working order. Very good used condition. L. 14 cm. The Meisterstück 146, in production since 1949 and known today as the LeGrand, ranks alongside the larger 149 among the most famous fountain pens of the Hamburg manufactory Montblanc. The nib stamping '4810' refers to the height of Mont Blanc in metres and has been the hallmark of the Meisterstück series for decades. The striped ink window and single-tone gold nib are typical of production around 1990.
