The emerald cut, rectangular with bevelled corners, was originally developed for the emerald and takes its name from it; in the first half of the 20th century it became widespread in jewellery with Art Deco. With the deep green of the stones, the set takes up the colour effect of the emerald and combines it with the warm tone of the yellow gold. The set also makes a suitable gift.
