Set of 24 lobby cards "Der weiße Traum", Wien-Film, musical comedy by Géza von Cziffra, 1943 Black and white photographic prints, set of 24 lobby cards for the film "Der weiße Traum", Wien-Film, 1943, portrait and landscape formats with white margins, portraits of the cast and scene stills with revue stage, dancers, ice rink and skaters, each with the printed-in film title "DER WEISSE TRAUM" and the company logo "WIEN FILM" with treble clef in a lozenge at the bottom, approval stamps of the Filmprüfstelle (film censorship office) with Reich eagle mostly blacked out or censored. Good condition commensurate with age, the corners mostly without pinholes. Each approx. 30x24 cm (LxW). "Der weiße Traum" is a musical comedy produced by Wien-Film GmbH, directed and written by Géza von Cziffra; the music was composed by Anton Profes. The Viennese dancer and actress Olly Holzmann (1915 to 1995) played the figure skater Liesl Strolz, alongside Wolf Albach-Retty as head of design at the Palast-Theater, Oskar Sima as its owner, and Lotte Lang and Hans Olden. After its censorship examination in September 1943 the film was released in cinemas on 5 October 1943 and became one of the great box-office successes of the war years. Such stills were specially staged during filming and displayed by cinemas in their showcases to advertise the current or forthcoming film. Because until 1945 the Filmprüfstelle Berlin approved not only the films but also titles and advertising material, these lobby cards bear a round approval stamp.
