KPM Berlin, two vases, beaker and carafe with ball stopper, white porcelain, blue sceptre mark Porcelain, glazed white, undecorated. Four pieces by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin. 1) Bulbous drop-shaped vase with a short, slightly flared neck on a narrow foot ring, H. 20 cm. 2) Small vase of flattened globular form with a small cylindrical mouth, H. 9 cm. 3) Beaker with conical wall widening towards the top, H. 7 cm. 4) Carafe with pear-shaped body, long slender neck and ball stopper, H. 24.5 cm. Each with the underglaze blue sceptre mark in the base. Good condition. The Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin was founded in 1763 by Frederick II, who took over the manufactory of the merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky and granted it the cobalt blue sceptre from the arms of the Electorate of Brandenburg as its mark. After the end of the monarchy it traded from 1918 as the Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin; since 2006 it has been owned by the entrepreneur Jörg Woltmann. Among the well-known designs in plain white porcelain are the Halle vases by Marguerite Friedlaender from the year 1931.
