Nymphenburg reticulated plate with flower painting and gilt latticework, 20th century Porcelain, polychrome painted and gilt, glazed. Plate by the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory of scalloped outline, the wide rim pierced with latticework, the lattice bars gilt, the edge with a gold rim. In the well a flower bouquet in yellow, green and greyish violet with green leaves, with scattered flowers. On the base the green stamped shield mark with the crowned Bavarian lozenge shield and the curved Nymphenburg inscription below, impressed marks above. Good condition. D. 26 cm. The Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory near Munich has used the Bavarian lozenge shield as its mark since 1754, at first impressed into the raw body. The crown was added around 1894, the Nymphenburg inscription from 1895. The stamped shield mark appears in blue underglaze from 1895 to 1910 and in green from 1910 to 1975; the impressed numbers are model and repairer marks. Pierced rims are among the most demanding porcelain techniques, as the latticework is cut from the still soft body before firing.
