Lomonosov vase with cobalt-blue folk floral decor, Leningrad, Russia Porcelain, polychrome painted, glazed. Vase by the Russian Lomonosov manufactory (Leningrad Porcelain Factory) with a bulbous body and short neck. The wall is hand-painted all around with a bold folk floral decor of stylised blossoms and leaves in cobalt blue and pink on a white ground. On the base the blue anchor mark of the Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LFZ) with the addition 'Leningrad'. Age-appropriate condition, small firing flaw, glaze and colour flaws. H. 23 cm. The State Porcelain Manufactory of St. Petersburg was founded in 1744 and bore the name of the city of Leningrad during the Soviet era; the blue anchor mark with the addition 'Leningrad' points to this period (probably mid-20th century). The bold, folkloric floral decor in cobalt blue and pink stands in the tradition of Russian folk-art porcelain. A decorative piece for lovers of Russian porcelain.
