Firstly a round relief wall plate by the Sitzendorf porcelain manufactory with a sculpturally modelled, multi-figure dancing scene in Rococo style, marked on the reverse and with wall mount; secondly a Thuringian porcelain figure on a profiled base showing a seated lady in a Rococo gown at a small table, the base with model number 8840. Both pieces in good condition, the wall plate marked as second choice. Relief wall plate h. 25 cm and w. 24 cm, porcelain figure h. 15 cm, w. 13 cm and d. 8 cm. The Sitzendorf porcelain manufactory was re-established in 1850 in Sitzendorf, Thuringia, and ranks alongside Volkstedt and Wallendorf among the early centres of the Thuringian porcelain industry. It became famous for its finely modelled Rococo figure groups with scenes of dance, music and courtly life. The multi-figure dancing scene of the relief wall plate and the seated lady figure stand firmly in this tradition of Thuringian figural porcelain. A decorative pair for lovers of Thuringian porcelain art.
