Royal Copenhagen figure group "The Kiss", designed by Christian Thomsen, white porcelain, lovers Porcelain, white glazed. Figure group "The Kiss", Royal Copenhagen, designed by Christian Thomsen. Young couple kissing on a rectangular base with rounded corners, the girl with pinned-up hair in a gathered dress, the young man in coat and knee breeches. Artist's signature in the plinth. Underside with the blue three wavy lines mark and an impressed number. Good condition. H. 19 cm. 360-degree photo available on our website. Christian Thomsen (1860 to 1921) was a Danish sculptor who worked for the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Copenhagen from 1898. Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 and came under royal responsibility in 1779. The three wavy lines of the manufactory mark stand for the three Danish straits, the Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt. Royal Copenhagen lists the figure group "The Kiss", Danish "Kysset", as model number 2046; it shows a young couple in Rococo costume.
