Three Wartburg repair manuals by Horst Ihling and GST textbook "Kraftfahrzeugtechnik", GDR Paper and card. Four repair manuals on the Wartburg and motor vehicle engineering from the GDR: 1) Dipl.-Ing. Horst Ihling, "Wie helfe ich mir selbst? Wartburg", VEB Verlag Technik Berlin, blue cover with photograph of the front of a green Wartburg 353. 2) Dipl.-Ing. Horst Ihling, "Ich fahre einen Wartburg", type 353 and 353 W, 8th unchanged edition, transpress VEB Verlag für Verkehrswesen Berlin, softcover with photograph of estate and saloon. 3) Dipl.-Ing. Horst Ihling, "Wie helfe ich mir selbst", VEB Verlag Technik Berlin, blue cover with Wartburg lettering and calliper, illustrations with red markings, covering models 311, 312/1 and 353. 4) "Kraftfahrzeugtechnik. Ein Lehrbuch für die Motorsportler der GST", 1954, dark brown cover. With numerous photographs and technical drawings. Condition commensurate with age, stained, browned, covers rubbed, one booklet torn at the spine. The graduate engineer Horst Ihling, born in 1932, worked at VEB Automobilwerk Eisenach and published his first self-help book for Wartburg drivers in 1970. Because the GDR's car workshops were fully booked, his guides were very successful and appeared in numerous editions. The Wartburg 353 was built in Eisenach from 1966 to 1989, as a four-door saloon until autumn 1988 and from 1968 as the "Tourist" estate, powered by a water-cooled three-cylinder two-stroke engine. The Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik, founded in 1952 as a paramilitary mass organisation of the GDR, was responsible among other things for motor sport and from 1957 for the driver training of young people.
