Leipzig, gedruckt bey Christoph Carl Klaubarth, 1797.", Fraktur print in two columns, 136 pages, not collated, black leather binding with gilt-tooled wreath medallion and border on both covers, spine with five raised bands and gilt tooling, gilt edges, marbled endpapers, age-appropriate good condition, half-title and front marbled paper with loss at the upper edge, endpaper partly rubbed, binding rubbed, 2) "Historische Karte der Grafschaft Mansfeld", lithograph, folded, with title cartouche with coat of arms lower right and text columns with index of places, in a cover with coat of arms with two griffins, inscribed "Eisleben, 1872. In Commission der Kuhnt'schen Buchhandlung (E. Graefenhan.)", title leaf loose, map slightly browned and foxed, torn at the folds After the sequestration of 1570 to 1579 the County of Mansfeld in the Harz foreland lost its independence: three fifths went to the Electorate of Saxony, two fifths to the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, and in 1780 the male line of the counts died out. The Mansfeld hymnal of 1797, printed by Klaubarth in Leipzig as a hymnal for church and home, refers to this Electoral Saxon part. The historical overview map of the county was drawn by Karl Krumhaar and lithographed by Wilhelm Schönerstedt in Eisleben in 1872; the map shows the nine districts with their villages, the borders of the old imperial county around the year 1000, the Magdeburg and Saxon borders and the mining boundary of 1364, and a copy is held by the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt. Hymnal and map are regional items from Eisleben and the Mansfeld region for local history.
