Doll's House Bungalow with Fairy-Tale Motifs and Brick Decor, Two Rooms, Furnished, 1960s Wood and hardboard, printed on the outside with red brick decor. Single-storey doll's house in bungalow form with open front and red-painted base edge. The outer walls bear applied pictorial motifs after the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, together with white-framed windows. Inside two rooms with wallpaper papers in red and pink with floral patterns, floors in blue and brown, in the partition wall a white interior door. Furnished with furniture of wood and plastic: bunk bed, cupboards, one high chair and a pram, plus sideboard, dresser, dining table, television set, standard lamps and several doll's house figures. Heavily played with, the back wall with a stain and a torn area. 30x82x36 cm. In the 1960s the flat bungalow replaced the multi-storey doll's house and transferred the contemporary dream of one's own flat-roofed house into the nursery. Characteristic of these years are the lithographed brick and wallpaper papers as well as the applied fairy-tale pictures, which served both as wall decoration and as an invitation to tell stories. The furnishings in the plastic scale of the period form a collecting field of their own and are frequently sought as additions to existing doll's rooms.
