Märklin 19031 Streamlined Saloon, Tin Model with Clockwork Drive, Replica of 1997 Tinplate, painted light green, the roof set off in cream. Streamlined saloon after the prototype of the 1930s with flowing roof line, sweeping wings and running boards, bonnet beaded at the sides and a white lining stripe. Radiator grille, bumpers, headlights, horns and trim strips silver-coloured, the number plate marked '1903 1'. Interior with red-finished seating, doors with handles. Rubber tyres on green-finished wheel discs, the front wheels can be turned. The base plate bears the embossing '191080' and shows the black frame, the spring motor with brass gearwheels and the battery holder for the lighting. Clockwork drive with winder, key present, function given. Played with. L. 37 cm. 360-degree photo on our website. From the 1990s onwards Märklin reissued the tin automobiles of the interwar years as limited replicas, thereby continuing its own tradition of the construction kit automobile. The streamlined saloon appeared in 1997 under article number 19031 in 1:16 scale and was given the markings of the historic prototype down to the number plate. The streamlined body concept was the latest thing in German automobile construction around 1935 and is a collecting subject in its own right today; the replicas are sought after by tin toy and automobile collectors alike.
