The Adalbert Wandt haulage company was founded in Braunschweig in 1939 and started out with a single truck of the Büssing marque, which was likewise at home in Braunschweig. The company developed into one of the well-known north German long-distance haulage firms; its vehicles were issued many times as advertising models, predominantly in 1:87 scale by manufacturers such as Herpa and Wiking. Large-format models in this form, by contrast, are rare and are sought after by collectors of haulage and of commercial vehicles alike. The wording 'Güterfernverkehr' on the door refers to the licensing requirement in German long-distance haulage in the post-war decades.
