Hanomag R40 Tin Tractor with Clockwork in Original Box and Small Tin Tractor Two mechanical tin tractors. 1) Hanomag R40 tractor, tinplate with clockwork, green, with steerable front axle; in its original packaging, the key is missing. Good condition commensurate with age. 2) Small mechanical tractor, unmarked, tinplate, red, with key, without packaging; played-with condition commensurate with age, with wear. The function of both models has been tested and is given. The Hanomag R40 was a well-known German tractor built by Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG from the late 1930s into the early 1950s and valued for its robust construction. Mechanical tin tractors with clockwork, gearbox, handbrake and steerable front axle are among the most enduring subjects in tin toy production and are still issued in small series today; agricultural machinery models form a collecting field of their own.
