Märklin 3125 SBB Red Arrow railcar RCe 2/4, gauge H0, orig. packaging Electric railcar of gauge H0 by Märklin, article number 3125, model of the Red Arrow of the SBB, RCe 2/4 series. Metal body, painted red with a silver-coloured roof, streamlined head shape, wheel arrangement Bo'2', three-light headlamp signal at both ends and interior lighting. In original packaging, the box with storage marks. The electrics respond (light illuminates, motor hums), however the drive is seized and gummed up due to the long period of standing; servicing and cleaning are required. Played-with condition. The track section shown serves only for presentation. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. In 1933 the SBB decided to procure light high-speed railcars and had them deliberately built as single vehicles without ordinary coupling and buffing gear, designed for one-man operation. Between 1935 and 1938 seven vehicles were built, the first delivered on 15 March 1935. Intended for express service on more lightly used lines, the Red Arrows were soon used above all for excursion and special trips and shaped the image of Swiss passenger traffic of those years. Three vehicles are preserved, two of them still operational.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
