Märklin H0 passenger train set 2858 with diesel locomotive V36 and coaches, orig. packaging Passenger train set of gauge H0 by Märklin (art. 2858) in original packaging: diesel locomotive V36 of the DB, green, and four two-axle passenger coaches ('Donnerbüchsen'), red. The electrics respond (light on, motor hums), the drive is seized due to the long period of standing (gummed up), servicing and cleaning required. Played-with condition, box with storage marks. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The V36 goes back to the shunting locomotive of the 1930s and was taken over by the Federal Railway and the Reichsbahn. The two-axle open-vestibule coaches of the standard type were nicknamed 'Donnerbüchsen' (thunder boxes) because of their loud running noise. The set 2858 combines this prototypical pairing as a closed train set.
