Roco SBB Be 4/6 12323 and RÖWA E 91 05, two electric locomotives, gauge H0 Two electric locomotives of gauge H0. 1) Model of the Be 4/6 class of the SBB with the running number 12323 by Roco, painted green, two bogies with jackshaft and rod drive, two pantographs. 2) Model of class E 91 with the running number E 91 05 by RÖWA, painted green, three-part articulated body, spoked wheels picked out in red, two pantographs. The RÖWA operating instructions for alternating current are enclosed with the E 91. The function has been tested and is present on the Roco 12323; on the E 91 the electrics respond (light illuminates, motor hums), however the drive is seized and gummed up due to the long period of standing. Played-with condition appropriate to age. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The SBB procured the Be 4/6 as an express locomotive for the Gotthard Railway; between 1920 and 1923 SLM Winterthur and BBC delivered 40 machines with the numbers 12303 to 12342. The rod drive via a jackshaft, which the model reproduces, was characteristic of this early generation of mountain locomotives before the individual-axle drive prevailed. Notable is the origin of the second model: RÖWA of Unterensingen manufactured from 1959 to 1968 initially on behalf of Trix and only then appeared under its own name. With screen-printed lettering, close coupling and interior lighting the company was regarded as technically top of the industry, but ended in 1975 after the insolvency of its main shareholder Rokal. A large part of the tooling was subsequently taken over by Roco - an acquisition to which the manufacturer partly owed its rapid rise.
