Märklin 4 steam locomotives, TM 800, 3029, SNCF 232 TC 423, gauge H0 Set of four steam locomotives, gauge H0, by Märklin. Included are the tank locomotives TM 800 (class 80) and Märklin 3029, a locomotive with the designation 81003 as well as a model of the French tank locomotive SNCF 232 TC 423. Bodies and running gear of metal, black livery with running gear partly picked out in red. On all locomotives the electrics respond (light illuminates, motor hums), however the drive is seized and gummed up due to the long period of standing; servicing and cleaning are required. Played-with condition, with signs of ageing. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. From the end of the 1940s the Märklin 800 series comprised inexpensive steam locomotive models with a uniform metal chassis; the TM 800 represents class 80 of the German Federal Railway. Models of foreign prototypes such as the French SNCF tank locomotive extended the range. The firm Gebrüder Märklin & Cie. in Göppingen has been among the most important manufacturers of model railways since 1859.
