Märklin gauge 00 (H0) Pullman car 349 Wagons-Lits, green-yellow, tinplate construction, 1937 Pullman car, gauge 00 (H0), by Märklin, article number 349, in tinplate construction. Green and yellow livery with the lettering 'Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits et des Grands Express Européens'. Version with claw couplings and cellophane windows. Played-with condition appropriate to age. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The Pullman car 349 reproduces a saloon car of the International Sleeping Car Company (CIWL) and is among the older tinplate models by Märklin. Märklin introduced the car in 1937 in ivory and dark turquoise; from 1938 to 1939 a version in ivory and ultramarine blue followed. The present piece is the first version of 1937 with claw couplings (Koll's Kompaktkatalog Märklin 00/H0, 1983, no. 349, variant 1). A collector's piece of classic tinplate railways. On the underside a red stamp 'A. Trute …', partly covered by the collector's label. Recorded in the consignor's collection index since 1982.
