Märklin DL 800 green double locomotive in streamlined form, gauge H0, 1951–1954 Electric double locomotive of the Märklin brand, type DL 800, gauge H0. Two-part streamlined body in green with a light grey roof and two pantographs. Version with silver-coloured trim strips beneath the cab windows and along the sides. Played-with condition, some areas partly repainted or touched up. The locomotive's function has been tested and is present. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The track section shown serves only for presentation. The double locomotive DL 800 appeared in 1949 in the classic Märklin 800 series and was built until 1957. The machine, designed as a two-part double locomotive with its striking streamlined form, is among the characteristic models of this series and is sought after by collectors. The present piece is the version of 1951 to 1954, which, compared with the first version of 1949 to 1950, received trim strips beneath the cab windows (Koll's Kompaktkatalog Märklin 00/H0, 1983, no. 3010, variant 2). From 1955 to 1957 the model was built in brown. Recorded in the consignor's collection index since 1982.
