Märklin TP 800 Steam Locomotive Class 64, Gauge H0, 1948 to 1950s Gauge H0 steam tank locomotive by Märklin, model TP 800 after the prototype of Class 64. Die-cast zinc body, painted black, frame and running board edge lined in red, driving and coupled wheels with red spokes, silver-colored motion. Raised lettering on the water tanks, side grab rails and steps, boiler with sand dome and steam dome, cab with cut-out windows, lamps and coupling hooks at front and rear. Played with, showing signs of age. The function of the locomotive has been tested and is given. The absence of smaller, delicate add-on parts cannot be entirely ruled out. The piece of track shown serves for presentation only. 360-degree photo on our website. The TP 800 appeared from 1948 and belongs to that post-war generation with which Märklin changed over to more true-to-scale bodies and a fully engineered standard chassis. The prototype is Class 64, a passenger tank locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn which, because of its stocky shape, was nicknamed "Bubikopf" in railwaymen's slang and remained in service on branch lines into the 1970s.
