Pola, sawmill “Bobby's Saw Mill” for G scale garden railway, motorised saw frame, with figures Plastic, coloured, sawmill “Bobby's Saw Mill” by Pola for the G scale garden railway on an irregularly shaped base with landscape finish and brick plinth, shed with removable roof in corrugated sheet look, brown board walls, muntin windows and open ends for the track, section of track with ramp and timber-look jetty on piles, raised maker's mark “POLA” on the saw frame, lettered “Bobby's SAW MILL”, “CAUTION”, “DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE Keep off!”, “NO SMOKING” and “WARNING”, inside the fully equipped workshop with saw frame under a transparent cover, workbench with vice and tools, workshop lamp, office section, logs, stacks of boards, two tracks and one tipper wagon, with two worker figures in yellow jackets, a seated figure and a dog, saw in working order with 9 volt battery, base 56x38 cm (LxW), length including jetty and ramp approx. 90 cm, H. 28 cm The model belonged to Pola's garden railway range, which was offered as a kit (Pola 936) and as a limited built-up model with electrically driven saw blades and interior lighting (Pola 1936, 2,900 pieces worldwide); the later version 330936 was sold by Faller under Pola G. Pola was founded in 1957 by Horst Pollak and produced building kits for the H0, TT, N and gauge 2 scales in Rothhausen until the range passed to Faller in 1997. Working models such as this sawmill are designed for the Lehmann-Groß-Bahn (LGB) with 45 mm gauge. The LGB has been built since 1968 as a weatherproof G scale garden railway.
