Adolf Hitler, "Mein Kampf", 1940, half-leather edition in grey card slipcase, dark spine with raised bands, spine title "Adolf Hitler" and "Mein Kampf" in Fraktur and oak sprig with acorns, boards with brown and yellow paper covering, text in Fraktur type. At the front a printed dedication leaf of the town of Quedlinburg for a newly married couple, filled in by hand, dated 11 October 1940 and signed by Lord Mayor Karl Selig. Condition commensurate with age, stained, base of the slipcase missing. A decree of the Reich Ministry of the Interior of April 1936 provided that towns and municipalities present the book to newly-weds; in 1938 not even half of the municipalities had implemented this requirement. The copies presented at the registry office on marriage are known as the wedding edition and bear a dedication leaf of the respective municipality. Karl Selig (1889–1945) was Lord Mayor of Quedlinburg from 1934 to 1945.
