Group of circa 50 Elastolin and Lineol Composition Soldiers with Band and Motorcycle, 1930s/40s Extensive group of about 50 composition figures modelled over a wire armature, in part with the base marks Elastolin (O. & M. Hausser) and Lineol. Depicted are German soldiers of the 1930s/40s: marching riflemen, a military band with drum major, drummers, tuba, trombone and fifes, a standard bearer with colour party, prone and firing figures as well as a motorcycle dispatch rider and a camp fire as an accessory. Figure height probably 7.5 cm. Played-with, with signs of age as well as losses and breaks. Alongside O. & M. Hausser (Elastolin), the Lineol company of Brandenburg was one of the leading makers of German composition figures of the 1930s. A military band with drum major as well as special figures such as the dispatch rider and standard bearer go beyond the plain marching figures, are particularly sought after by collectors and account for the scope of such a group.
