H. 13.5 cm. 360-degree photo available on our website. The Luftzeuggruppen were the supply organisation of the Luftwaffe; on 1 July 1938 they were placed under the newly formed Luftgau commands, and their commander was responsible, both technically and in terms of command, for all supply facilities of the Luftgau, organised in specialist groups for aircraft equipment, small arms, flak equipment and ammunition as well as fuel and motor vehicles. Luftzeuggruppe 7 was based in Munich; Luftgaukommando VII, formed as part of the Luftgaue established in 1936, had its seat on Prinzregentenstraße. The Münchner Kindl is the heraldic figure of the city of Munich, originally a monk in the city arms, who from the 16th century was increasingly depicted as a child; on postcards, beer steins and beer bottles it holds a beer mug instead of the book of oaths. The picture field inscribed "BAVARIA" shows a further Munich landmark of the decor, the bronze figure of Bavaria completed in 1850 after the model by Ludwig Schwanthaler in front of Leo von Klenze's Hall of Fame above the Theresienwiese.
