Small 8vo (18 x 10.5 cm), frontispiece title page, (12)-1045 pp., copperplate engravings (pagination errors). Contemporary waxed and grained tan sheepskin, ribbed spine, ornate panels, gilt title, speckled edges (scuffing, split jaws, torn caps, leather losses at the corner of the lower cover, small hole in the upper cover, slight paper oxidation, foxing on a few quires, a small marginal wormhole on the first quires with no loss). Rare. 11 engravings, including the frontispiece title page engraved with 8 vignettes (one of which is repeated for St. Appollonius and St. John the Almoner) Engraved woodcut headbands and tailpieces An edition adorned with a frontispiece title page dated 1668, “In Paris, published by Jacques le Gentil,” and full-page copperplate engravings in the text.
