LARGE CHEST MADE OF MOTHER-OF-PEARL, BONE, AND TURTLE SHELL Turkey or Ottoman Syria, 19th century Rectangular in shape on four short legs, decorated with several bands of geometric motifs and squares on the front, lid, both sides, and the five drawers, which are adorned with cartouches featuring foliage, palmettes, and fleurons; each drawer retains its original lock; with missing sections, gaps in the material (numerous veneer strips preserved in one of the drawers), past restorations, and traces of glue.
